Privacy Notice

Purpose

This notice is used to inform website visitors, members and subscribers of NAWIC Jersey of what data is collected and how it is stored. The use the information collected is in accordance with all legislation concerning the protection of personal data under the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018.

As per this legislation, NAWIC Jersey is the Data Controller. All personal data is processed internally by committee members acting under the authority of the organisation, and no external individuals or organisations process personal data on our behalf.

If your questions are not fully answered by this policy, please contact NAWIC Jersey at nawicjersey@gmail.com. If you are not satisfied with the answers, you can contact the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner (JOIC).

Types of Information

We currently collect and process the following information:

  • Personal identifiers: Name and email contact details

In line with the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018 appropriate internal measures are in place to ensure confidentiality, restricted access, secure handling of personal data, and compliance with data subject rights. You can access, correct, or request deletion of your data at any time. You can do this by contacting nawicjersey@gmail.com.

What personal information is collected

For NAWIC Jersey to communicate with members and to those subscribed to our mailing list the following information is held:

  • Name of members/subscribers

  • Email address

The information is collected directly from the member/subscriber.

By providing your information (detailed above) through our website www.nawicci.co.uk, you enable us to send you newsletters and event updates. By completing the sign‑up process, you confirm your consent for this data to be securely stored on our encrypted Google Drive and used exclusively for email communications.

How NAWIC Jersey store your information

The data will be held on password protected spreadsheet which will be held on an encrypted Google Drive server, whereby access is restricted only to NAWIC Jersey committee members only. There is no requirement to hold a paper-based documentation.

We take the security of personal data seriously and have implemented appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it from unauthorised access, loss, or damage, in line with Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018.

Data is held as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected or until such time that the member or subscriber no longer wishes to be part of the organisation. If a request is made to delete personal information, we will undertake this and notify you of the date that the data has been deleted. We advise we keep an internal log of deleted data (limited to name only) for a period of 1 year.

In line with good practice a review of data held by the organisation is reviewed annually at our AGM (May each year) by the members of the Committee to identify outdated or unnecessary records.

Your right of access – You have the right to ask us what information we hold on your behalf.

Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify information you think is inaccurate.

Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information at any time. 

Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to limit how your data is used.

Your right to data portability - Individuals can receive their personal data in a structured, machine-readable format and transfer it to another organisation.

Your right to object – You have the right to object, via email you can opt out of receiving information.

Complaints

If you have any direct complaints, you can contact us at nawicjersey@gmail.com.

If you believe your complaint has not been resolved to a satisfactory standard, you may escalate the matter directly to the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner (JOIC), who can be contacted at enquiries@jerseyoic.org.

Changes to the Privacy Notice

The Privacy Notice was last changed on 20 March 2026.

All members and subscribers will be notified of any further changes to the Privacy Notice via email.
